VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2013
For the third year, Vacation Bible School was held in
collaboration with two other Acton churches, St. Matthews Methodist Church
and Church of the Good Shepherd.
Thirty six children from the community gathered
at St. Matthews on Central St. for a fun-filled week of fun and
learning during the week
of July 22-26.
Each day at God's Backyard Bible Camp, children heard familiar and new bible stories and learned the importance of serving others through drama, crafts, games and music.
Highlights of the week included a visit from Cooper the puppet each morning and a service dog on Wednesday.
It was a terrific week!!
"From my observations of my own children their lack of desire to serve others stems from two things; a selfish desire to do their own thing and then not knowing what they could do. One is a heart issue the other a head knowledge one. God can work on their hearts and give them a love and passion to serve others over their own desires, and I can equip them with a practical understanding of what it means to serve others and how they, even as children, can step up and serve others" -- written by Jessica Lynette from her blog Making the home a haven and nurturing those who live there.
Remember the VBS Bible Stories
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in it's various forms.

Father, we thank thee for the night,
And for the pleasant morning light;
For rest and food and loving care,
And all that makes the day so fair.
Help us to do the things we should,
To be to others kind and good; In all we do, in work or play,
To grow more loving every day.
