Welcome to Family Faith Formation at Acton Congregational Church
The purpose of this website is to help the families of Acton Congregational Church stay connected to our Sunday morning children's program and special activities, and to provide you with interactive resources for your family to engage in at home. Now you can be forming the faith of your children not only by bringing them to church on Sunday morning, but also in ways that fit your family's schedule and meet your family's needs. It is a joy to walk beside your family as together we pass along the faith to the next generation. Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.....Deuteronomy 11:18-20
Family Faith Formation @ Home God-filled activities for Summer
Prayer: Help children explore what it means to pray for God's forgiveness. Everyone makes mistakes and poor choices, and when we do, it's important to say "I'm sorry" to God and to those we hurt. Learn about Faith: Use a beach ball to explore how faith helps us bounce back after hard things. Ritual and Tradition: It'ssummer! It's vacation time! The day is finally here. The suitcases are packed. Your car has a full tank of gas or maybe you have boarding passes tucked away in your pocket. Before you leave on vacation, take a moment to say a prayer for traveling mercies. Caring Conversation:Because we're all unique, we don't always agree. The people we love most and with whom we spend the most time, are, unfortunately, also the ones with whom we argue the most. If you've had a big fight with someone, these ideas can help! Learn about the Bible: Thunderstorms. Earthquakes. Monsters under the bed. People yelling. News reports of horrific violence. Children can be frightened easily. After reading the story of Jesus walking on water, talk together about fears and how to feel safe. Serve Others: If you have a friend who is ill, or going through a hard time, these activities can help.
